2019 POABC Conference

The Prosthetics and Orthotics Association of British Columbia (POABC) is holding its bi-annual conference at The Hotel Eldorado, in Kelowna, BC. This Historic facility is located on the water near downtown Kelowna. This is a full day event with excellent educational talks for prosthetists, orthotists, technicians, and managers. Visit with suppliers to see emerging technology and clinical applications of orthotic and prosthetic products. Purchase your early bird tickets before July 17th, and have the Friday night social event at McCurdy Bowling included. This is an excellent opportunity to network, share ideas, and discuss new products and treatments in a relaxed, social environment at a beautiful venue and location.
There is a limit to 50 orthotic and 50 prosthetic seats at the convention. Presentations will occur simultaneously in the Lake Room and the Mountain Room. Lunch will be provided by our gold sponsor Ossur in the Sun Room. The Sun Room will also be set up with 10 vendor tables. Keep your fingers crossed for sun as the Sun Room can be opened up to adjacent patios.
Come bowl with us on Friday night at McCurdy bowling. A catered dinner will be provided. This event will be from 6-9pm, with dinner being provided at 6:30.

Our goal is that POABC members will contribute to the content of the conference by presenting on work that other members will benefit from, or ideas that other members could contribute towards. A call for academic presentations, case study reports, design and technical applications, and innovation in the field of O & P has been emailed to POABC members with more information, including survey results on topics members find of greatest interest. If you, your clinic or allied team members have a topic you are passionate about, please contact Shane Bates by email at [email protected]. This Call for Presentation closes on June 28th.
A block of rooms with reduced rates has been designated for attendees at The Hotel Eldorado. The Hotel Eldorado neighbors is situated on Lake Okanagan. Rooms range from $190-$310 depending on your needs. Just mention that you are attending the 2019 POABC Conference when booking. Act fast as rooms are limited and the cut-off date is August 12th, 2019.
