POABC Mandate

 

Representing clinician practitioners, technicians, students, and facility owners/managers within the province, the POABC is mandated to advocate for our patients, to promote education and to participate in professional development for the ongoing successful and ethical practice of prosthetics and orthotics. To maintain a high standard of care and practice in BC, it is also our mandate to be the representative body for communication with the:

The Prosthetics and Orthotic Association of British Columbia (POABC) constantly improve our professional expertise and uphold our educational standards for the betterment of our patients’ potential and enduring quality of life. We are advocates of patient care and our members incorporate new technologies and have an active role in provincial funding, education and research.

The POABC was incorporated in 1974 to establish a provincial association that promotes communication and awareness in all matters related to the profession.
